If you have seen most of her
films, a lot of singers (Bow Wow, Omarion, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Brown, and Ne-Yo)
are in and are paired with Meagan Good, who, after doing a bunch of urban flicks
such as 'You Got Seved', 'The Cookout', 'Roll Bounce', 'Waist Deep', and 'Stomp
The Yard', has landed a role opposite Mike Myers and Jessica Alba in 'The Love
Guru', where she will play the love interest to both Justin Timberlake and
Romany Malco.
The film will be released by Paramount Pictures in 2008.
In the comedy, "The Love Guru" (Myers), Pitka is an American who was
left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He moves
back to the U.S. to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and
spirituality. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must settle a
rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke (Malco) and
his estranged wife, played by Good. After the split, Roanoke's wife starts
dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Timberlake) out of revenge, sending her
husband into a major professional skid -- to the horror of the teams' owner Jane
Bullard (Alba) and Coach Cherkov (Troyer). Pitka must return the couple to
marital nirvana and get Roanoke back on his game so the team can break the
40-year-old "Bullard Curse" and win the Stanley Cup.

Justin Timberlake is starting to build an acting resume
to rival his music career, signing on today to Mike Myers' first new comedy in
years, The Love Guru, a film that already co-stars Jessica Alba. The film,
produced by Paramount Pictures, stars Mike Myers, Jessica Alba, Romany Malco,
Verne Troyer, and, now, Justin Timberlake. The Love Guru will start filming with
director Marco Schnabel next month in Toronto from a script by Mike Myers and
Graham Gordy.
Spyglass Entertainment is co-financing The Love Guru and Mike Myers will play
his first original character since Austin Powers, according to Variety. Variety
also reports that The Love Guru will be produced by Mike Myers and Michael De
Luca. It probably didn't hurt Justin Timberlake that he recently worked with
Mike Myers on Shrek the Third.
In The Love Guru, Mike Myers plays Pitka, an American
who was raised by gurus after being left at an ashram in India as a child. Mike
Myers' character moves back to the U.S. and becomes famous in the world of
self-help and spirituality. Variety reports that the lead character will
specialize in intimacy issues between couples. Expect an awkward Indian accent
courtesy of Mike Myers. He loves his accents.
The central plot in The Love Guru features the character played by Mike Myers
trying to settle a rift between a star hockey player played by Romany Malco and
his estranged wife. The ex-wife of Malco's character starts dating the star of
another team, who will be played by Justin Timberlake, which send the Malco into
a tailspin. The owner of the team (Jessica Alba) and the Coach (Verne Troyer)
hire Mike Myers' character to fix the problem. Marco Schnabel, who worked on
Austin Powers in Goldmember with Mike Myers, will direct The Love Guru from a
screenplay by Myers and Graham Gordy.
Romany Malco starred in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Weeds and Verne Troyer is
known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies.
Justin Timberlake has had quite a year on-screen already, starring in Alpha Dog,
Black Snake Moan, and Shrek the Third. He'll also appear in Southland Tales,
which should be released some day and can be caught on DVD in Edison.
